How it works

One booking for the music and the photo booth

Most events we work at have two things that set the mood of the room: the music and the photo booth. When they come from two different vendors, you end up passing the same timeline, venue contact and load-in details to both, and hoping they talk to each other on the night. When you book your DJ through Just Great Events, one team holds the plan for both.

That matters at the moments that shape a reception or a party. The booth gets busiest right after dinner and when the dance floor opens, so the DJ and the booth attendant agree in advance when to announce the booth, when to call guests back to the floor and when to keep the booth quiet during speeches, the first dance or a company presentation.

You can also book a DJ on its own, without a photo booth. The written quote lists exactly what is included for your date, venue and hours.

Events

Wedding DJ, corporate DJ and party DJ in the GTA

Wedding DJ

Ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing planned around your run sheet, your must-play and do-not-play lists and the cultural traditions in your family. Pairs well with the wedding photo booth and the audio guest book.

Corporate and holiday party DJ

Background music while guests arrive and network, a clean microphone for speeches and awards, then a dance set if your team wants one. Often booked with a branded corporate photo booth.

Birthday and milestone DJ

Sweet 16s, 18ths, 30ths, 50ths and family milestones, with a playlist built around the guest of honour. See birthday party photo booths.

School events and proms

Proms, formals, graduations and school dances, with clean versions of songs where the school asks for them. See school event photo booths.

Quinceañeras

The entrance, the waltz, the surprise dance and the party set, timed with the photos your family wants. See quinceañera photo booths.

Cultural celebrations

Tell us the music your guests expect, the languages spoken and the traditions in the program, and we plan the sets around them.

Planning

What we ask before your event

A good DJ set starts with a short conversation. Before your event we confirm these details, and they go into your written quote and run sheet:

  • The venue and the room. Hall, restaurant, hotel ballroom, backyard or office floor, plus where the DJ table and the booth will stand.
  • The timeline. Arrival, ceremony or opening, dinner, speeches, first dance or awards, open dancing and the last song.
  • Your music. Genres, languages, a must-play list, a do-not-play list and any songs for the entrance, first dance, cake cutting or parent dances.
  • Microphones and speeches. Who speaks, in what order, and whether the officiant or the MC needs a microphone.
  • Guest count and age range. A room of 60 friends and a room of 300 with three generations call for different sets.
  • Venue rules. Sound limits, end times, load-in times, elevator or loading dock access and any insurance the venue asks vendors for.

Send what you have, even if the timeline is still a draft. We fill the gaps with you as the date gets closer.

At the venue

Power, space and load-in

A DJ setup and a photo booth both need floor space and power, so we plan them together on one floor plan. In most rooms the DJ sits near the dance floor and the booth sits close enough to catch the energy without blocking the path to the bar or the exits.

Both need standard wall outlets, ideally on separate circuits when the venue can offer them. Older halls and some restaurants share one circuit across a wall, so we ask the venue in advance. Load-in and setup happen before guests arrive, and teardown starts after the last song. If your venue has a strict load-in window or a freight elevator booking, tell us and we plan around it.

For outdoor events and tents, we also need a covered spot for the equipment and a safe power source. Your quote notes what the venue or the tent company needs to provide.

Photo booth pairing

Music and booth moments that work together

A few ideas couples and planners ask us for when the DJ and the booth come from the same booking:

  • The DJ announces when the 360 video booth opens, and the attendant picks a track for the slow-motion clips so they match the party playlist.
  • The booth pauses during the first dance and speeches, then reopens with a DJ call-out so the line forms right away.
  • At corporate events, the DJ keeps the volume low near the Signature Classic booth while guests network, then turns it up for the dance set.
  • For mirror booth and glam booth setups, we place the DJ and booth so the lighting from the dance floor does not wash out the portraits.
  • The audio guest book sits away from the speakers, so guests can hear the phone and record clear messages.

Add the décor that makes the room photograph well: marquee letters, a neon sign or a backdrop or flower wall.

Pricing

How DJ pricing works

DJ prices depend on the hours, the date, the size of the room, the sound and lighting needed and whether you also book a photo booth. We do not publish one flat DJ rate, because a two-hour office party and a full wedding day are different jobs. Send the date, venue, guest count and hours and the written quote lists the price and what is included, with no surprises after the event.

For photo booth prices, see all photo booth services. Signature Classic booth rental starts at $450 for two hours.

FAQ

DJ services questions

Booking a DJ

Do you offer DJ services in Toronto?
Yes. Just Great Events supplies DJ services for weddings, corporate events, birthdays, school events and quinceañeras across Toronto and the GTA.
Can I book a DJ without a photo booth?
Yes. You can book the DJ on its own, or together with any of our photo booths for one booking and one team.
Why book the DJ and the photo booth from one company?
One team holds one timeline, one floor plan and one venue contact, so the music and the booth are planned together and you pass your details on once.
Which areas do you cover?
We cover Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Aurora, Oakville, Hamilton and the rest of the GTA. Travel outside the GTA is confirmed in your quote.
How far ahead should I book a wedding DJ?
As early as you can once the date and venue are set. Saturdays from May to October and December holiday party dates fill first.
How do I get a price?
Send the date, venue, guest count and hours through the quote form, by WhatsApp or by phone at (437) 551-8285. You receive a written quote.
Do you publish DJ prices?
No. DJ pricing depends on hours, date, room size and equipment, so every DJ booking is priced in a written quote.

Weddings

Can the DJ play during the ceremony?
Yes, if you want music for the processional, signing and recessional. Tell us whether the ceremony is in the same room or a different space so we plan the sound.
Can we give a must-play and do-not-play list?
Yes. We ask for both before the wedding and build the sets around them.
Can you play music in more than one language?
Yes. Tell us the languages and styles your guests expect and the songs that matter to your families.
Will the DJ make announcements?
Yes, if you want them. Some couples have a separate MC, in which case the DJ supports the MC with microphones and music cues.
Can the DJ follow our wedding run sheet?
Yes. We work from your run sheet or your planner’s, and we confirm the timing of the entrance, first dance, speeches and cake cutting before the day.
Do you coordinate with our wedding planner and venue?
Yes. We share the load-in time, power needs and floor plan with your planner and venue coordinator.
Can the DJ and the photo booth stop during speeches?
Yes. Most couples ask for the booth to pause and the music to drop during speeches and the first dance.

Corporate and school events

Do you provide DJs for corporate holiday parties?
Yes. We plan background music for arrivals and networking, microphones for speeches or awards, and a dance set if your team wants one.
Can you keep the music at a set volume?
Yes. Tell us the volume your team or venue wants during networking and presentations, and we keep to it.
Can the DJ play clean versions only?
Yes. For school events, family events and many corporate events we play clean versions on request.
Do you work at proms and graduations?
Yes. We supply DJs for proms, formals, graduations and school dances, with the school’s rules on content and end time.
Can the DJ announce our brand activation or photo booth?
Yes. The DJ can call guests to the branded booth at set times, which helps spread the line through the night.
Can you provide a microphone for speeches?
Yes. Tell us how many people speak and where, and the quote confirms the microphone setup.

Setup and venue

How much space does a DJ setup need?
It depends on the setup in your quote. We plan the DJ table and the photo booth on one floor plan, usually near the dance floor and away from exits and the bar line.
What power does the DJ need?
Standard wall outlets close to the DJ table, ideally on a separate circuit from the photo booth when the venue can offer it.
When does the DJ set up?
Before guests arrive, within the venue’s load-in window. Teardown starts after the last song.
Can the DJ play outdoors?
Yes, with a covered spot for the equipment and a safe power source. Your quote lists what the venue or tent company needs to provide.
Does the venue need anything from you?
Some venues ask vendors for insurance documents or a load-in time. Tell us the venue’s vendor rules and we confirm what they need.
What happens if the venue has a sound limit?
We follow it. Tell us the limit and the end time and we plan the sets to fit.
